About Me
I'm a bit stubborn, love a good puzzle, and find peace in wide open spaces. I have a passion for physiology and how nutrition fuels every process in the human body.Ā
My goal as a dietitian is to support individuals who want to take an active role in their health by:
- Providing foundational knowledge
- IdentifyingĀ individualĀ needs
- Fostering confidence
- Teaching the skills to make nutrition an enjoyable and delicious way to support health!
My Story
I never learned how to trust what my body was telling me. After many dismissals from a family doctor, I trained myself to ignore what was happeningā¦until my symptoms had multiplied and could no longer be ignored.
Despite being a fiercely independent person, I found myself with three children I couldnāt care for. My incredibly supportive husband picked up the slack when the majority of my day was spent hating myself for feeling like I would pass out doing a single load of laundry.
No doctor knew how to help me. My body rejected most ātreatmentsā because they failed to address the real problemā¦and that problem seemed to be growing. That is when I learned how crucial it is for a patient to play an active part in their own medical care.
For the past nine years I have learned to trust my body, identify what things trigger my symptoms, and gained the strength and confidence to pursue professional training in physiology and nutrition. Learning to identify the foods that were right for my body and situation was crucial for my recovery. This experience fuels my passion to help other individuals discover the value of a personalized nutrition plan when trying to recover and maintain health.
